Minecraft is Hosting a Music Festival Inside its Own Game

With concerts the world over postponed until further notice, many have been getting creative when it comes to live music, including the video game Minecraft.

The popular video game has announced Block By Blockwest, a music festival that will be hosted within the Minecraft video game. The festival will also stream on the Block By Blockwest website and on Twitch, Facebook, and YouTube.

In a statement on their website, “Due to the mass cancellation of tours, ‘Block By Blockwest: A Minecraft Music Festival’ aims to provide an online festival experience for the artists that were forced to cancel their tours and fans who missed out on the chance to hear their favorite artists live.”

Artists confirmed for the April 25 show include Pussy Riot, Nothing Nowhere, Hunny, Fever 333, Oliver Francis, Citizen, Billy Lemos and many more. (The “festival” poster is listed below.) All proceeds raised from the show will go towards the Coronavirus Emergency Response Fund.
