Motley Crue Unveils Documentary Series Inspired by 2001 Memoir “The Dirt

Mötley Crüe is set to release a new documentary series based on their 2001 memoir, *The Dirt*, which was adapted into a movie in 2019. Bassist Nikki Sixx shared the exciting news at the Jackson Hole International Film Festival during a discussion about the film *If These Walls Could Rock*.

“The documentary is about Mötley Crüe,” Sixx said. “It offers an interesting look at our career, and fans will discover a lot about us, our music, and our lyrics.” The series will feature insights from Sixx, drummer Tommy Lee, and frontman Vince Neil. They will share their experiences in the band, both individually and together.

“Storytelling is really important to me,” Sixx explained. “You’ll hear from us as a group and as individuals. We’ve had quite the life, and we’re sharing it all—warts and all.”

The 2019 film *The Dirt* introduced Mötley Crüe to a new generation of fans. Sixx noted how the movie changed perceptions of the band. “When the film came out, younger music fans had only heard of us,” he said. “After watching the movie, they were amazed. They thought, ‘Holy s*! They don’t make bands like that anymore!’”

Sixx also mentioned that many young fans are still discovering classic rock. “There are plenty of kids who love rock’n’roll and are checking out bands like us, Guns N’ Roses, and Metallica,” he added.

For fans eager to catch Mötley Crüe live, information and tickets for their 2026 shows will be available soon. Stay tuned for updates!
