Myles Smith has released his debut album, titled *My Mess. My Heart. My Life.* The album has received a thumbs-up from his friend Ed Sheeran and features a short film starring Stephen Graham, known for his role in *Adolescence*. The film, set to the song “Hold Me in the Dark,” tells the story of a heartbroken father facing the loss of his child. Myles directed the film and dedicated it to the staff at his local pediatric oncology ward, with some staff members appearing as extras.
While “Hold Me in the Dark” isn’t about death, the album includes serious themes alongside romantic ballads and upbeat tracks. One standout song is “Dublin Lights,” which Myles co-wrote with Ed. He explains that the long title reflects the different experiences that have shaped him. “Together, it feels like the most complete picture of who I am right now,” he says.
The album features 15 tracks, including two popular songs, “Stargazing” and “Nice to Meet You.” Even though these tracks were released in 2024 and have over 1 billion streams, Myles believes they belong on this album. “They might have existed before the album, but spiritually, they’ve always belonged there,” he adds.
