Myles Smith enjoys both the experience of opening for Ed Sheeran and performing his own shows, stating, ‘I cherish both opportunities.’

Myles Smith will start doing double duty in North America on July 3. He’ll open for Ed Sheeran on the LOOP stadium tour and also headline his own shows for his new album, My Mess, My Heart, My Life.

Opening for Ed means playing to tens of thousands of people each night. Smith says that show is about introducing himself to a lot of new listeners. His headline shows are more intimate. Fans at those shows already know the songs and the stories behind them.

Both sets will include hits like “Stargazing” and “Nice to Meet You.” He may also throw in a cover or two. Smith says he loves both experiences because they challenge him in different ways.

He opens for Ed through Aug. 29 in Detroit. His own tour ends Sept. 10 in Atlanta. After that he heads to Europe and the U.K. for more headline dates.
