Neal Schon Auctioning Off Over 100 of His Guitars

Neal Schon is auctioning off 112 guitars from his personal collection at the end of July via Heritage Auctions.

Per a press release for the auction, Schon said, “These are guitars I’ve been collecting for a very long time, and it’s time to let go of some of my collection to make room for new arrivals…Fifty-seven years now. That’s how long I’ve been playing. It’s crazy, man. I mean, I should be so much better. All these guitars have a story, a history.” A video of Schon highlighting various guitars up for bid can be viewed below.

Among the guitars up for auction is a 1977 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Black Solid Body that Schon used on Journey’s 1981 hit album Escape, which featured that band’s enduring hit “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Other guitars up for auction include the following:

-1958 Gibson ES-335 Natural Semi-Hollow Body Electric
-1950 Fender Broadcaster Butterscotch Blonde Solid Body Electric
-1951 Fender No-Caster Butterscotch Blonde Solid Body Electric
-1961 Gibson Les Paul SG Custom White Solid Body Electric
-1962 Gibson SG Custom White Solid Body Electric
