New Jersey Rock Band Returns After 8-Year Hiatus with Collaboration Featuring Bruce Springsteen

The Gaslight Anthem is back, blending Jersey Shore punk with heartland stories. After an eight-year break, they announced their reunion on March 25, 2022, with a simple Instagram post. The band, which split in 2015, returned with a new album called *History Books*, featuring rock legend Bruce Springsteen on the title track.

They briefly reunited in 2018 to celebrate ten years since their second album, *The ’59 Sound*. Guitarist Alex Rosamilia shared, “We had something to say again.” He emphasized that they weren’t making music just to keep busy. By the end of the recording process, he felt they were just getting started.

In October 2022, the band entered Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, Connecticut, kicking off the sessions with the song “Positive Change.” They worked with producer Peter Katis, spending late nights in the studio until January 2023. The band recorded five days a week, reconnecting with each other through the process.

Lead singer Brian Fallon wrote all ten tracks, which include raw songs like “Little Fires” and the energetic “Empires,” along with the standout title track featuring Springsteen. Alex Levine played bass, and Benny Horowitz was on drums, while Rosamilia handled lead guitar. The band has a strong lineup and plays songs from six albums during their shows.

Rosamilia mentioned, “With our live show, we try to keep it different. We change it up every day to keep it fresh.” He added, “We’re definitely back, and we’re already talking about working on the next thing.” Fans can look forward to more from The Gaslight Anthem in the future!
