Nine Inch Nails rocked TD Garden on February 13 during their Peel It Back Tour, delivering an intense 100-minute set that featured 21 songs. The band played several tracks they had skipped during their last visit to Boston in August 2025.
About 80 minutes into the show, Trent Reznor spoke to the crowd, saying, “I didn’t really look at the schedule. And then last week, I went, ‘We’re f*ing going back to Boston!’” Boston was one of only two cities to get repeat shows on this extended tour. Reznor expressed his love for the city but joked about whether fans were tired of seeing them again.
The performance switched between two stages. Reznor started with a stripped-down version of a song on a smaller platform. His bandmates joined him for “Non-Entity,” with bassist Stu Brooks and guitarist Robin Finck moving around while Atticus Ross handled the mixing. After a few songs, they moved to the main stage where drummer Josh Freese was ready to rock. Freese recently left Foo Fighters and joined Nine Inch Nails.
The show kicked off with an opening set from Boys Noize. The electronic artist returned later to join Nine Inch Nails on the B-stage. Together, they performed a remix of “Closer,” along with tracks from the Tron: Ares soundtrack and the Reznor/Ross side project How to Destroy Angels.
Boston has seen a lot of Nine Inch Nails lately. They filled in for Foo Fighters at Boston Calling 2022 and returned the next night when The Strokes canceled due to illness. Fans are clearly excited to have them back in town!
