Nita Strauss is celebrating 10 years of sobriety! The Alice Cooper guitarist and solo artist shared her milestone in an Instagram post titled “Made it.”
In her post, Strauss reflected on her early days of sobriety, saying, “I remember my first few weeks with this vague idea of ‘I’ll see if I can do 10 years.’ At the time, that number felt impossible.” She thought she would just wait for her life to calm down before returning to her old ways.
However, she soon realized the many gifts that sobriety would bring her. “I had no idea how much better my new normal would be!” she wrote. Strauss admitted that staying sober is still a challenge for her. “It’s something you work at every day,” she explained. Some days it’s easy, while others are tougher. She also expressed gratitude to her husband and friends for their support.
“Sobriety can be a lonely journey, but you don’t have to walk it alone if you don’t want to!” Strauss encouraged.
Fans can catch Nita back on the road with Alice Cooper, as they kick off their tour with Judas Priest on September 16 in Biloxi, Mississippi.
