Oasis Reunion Draws 80,000 Fans to MetLife Stadium After 17-Year Hiatus

At MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, British rock legends Oasis thrilled 80,000 fans during their first NYC-area show since their breakup 17 years ago. The band performed on August 31 and September 1 as part of their Live ’25 tour, kicking off with hits from their 1995 album. This highly anticipated reunion brought the Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, back together on stage after years of tension.

Opening acts Cast and Cage the Elephant got the crowd pumped up with high-energy, 45-minute sets that had fans dancing and ready for the main event. When Oasis finally took the stage, the excitement was electric. Fans cheered, threw cups in the air, and sang along to every word of their favorite songs. At the end of the August 31 show, Liam expressed his gratitude, saying, “Nice one for having us, thanks for putting this band back on the map again, to play these beautiful stadiums.”

This comeback shows how much has changed for Oasis since their early days in America. While they ruled the British charts in the 1990s, breaking into the U.S. market was a challenge. But the packed stadium proved that their popularity has returned. The enthusiastic American fans matched the energy of any crowd from their glory days in the UK.

Stadium workers managed the large crowd with increased security, and transit crews added extra services to accommodate the influx of fans. This massive show is just one of many concerts planned at MetLife in 2025. With tickets for the Live ’25 tour nearly sold out in major U.S. cities, Oasis is set to keep drawing huge crowds.
