Of Monsters And Men Share Award-Winning Doc ‘TÍU’ On YouTube

Of Monsters and Men proudly have shared their award-winning and acclaimed short documentary TÍU on YouTube. You can watch it here.

When the band’s 2020 world tour was canceled due to the Covid pandemic, they set out on a friends and family road trip/adventure around their native Iceland. Footage shot by friend and director Dean Deblois (How To Train Your Dragon, Lilo and Stitch and Sigur Ros’ Heima) ultimately became what is now the short documentary TÍU which has been recognized as an “Official Selection” at 2022 & 2023 film festivals around the world including a world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival and an international premiere at the Reykjavik International Film Festival. It also garnered an award in the category of “Best Short” at the 2023 Dumbo Film Festival.

Following its Tribeca debut, The Wrap christened the film “an intimate gem,” going on to elaborate, “This is intimate music in an expansive setting, and a lovely way to capture the artistry and humanity of this band.”

Now, audiences everywhere can get even closer to Of Monsters and Men in TÍU. Fans can also listen to the accompanying EP released in 2020, also titled TÍU.

In other news, Of Monsters and Men are currently hunkered down in Iceland working on their fourth full-length album. New music is expected to drop in late 2024.

Last year the band released The Cabin Sessions, which premiered on YouTube and as a full album. At the end of filming TÍU, they recorded a stripped down performance of My Head Is An Animal in its entirety at a cabin in Iceland. The Cabin Sessions premiered on YouTube, and the band also hosted a small fundraiser on platform for World Central Kitchen, an organization that provides fresh meals to refugees.

Earlier this year, Of Monsters And Men vocalist Nanna also released her acclaimed solo debut How To Start A Garden with World Cafe who describing the record as “beautiful…so lush and layered and everything feels like it belongs somewhere” and noted “the first song, (the) title track opens with a soundscape so perfect that I could close my eyes and feel myself there.”
