Ozzfest is getting closer to its highly anticipated comeback, and fans might not have to wait much longer to find out what the legendary metal festival has planned for 2027.
The iconic hard rock and heavy metal festival launched a mysterious countdown clock on Tuesday, November 3, sparking speculation that organizers are preparing to reveal major details about its return.
The countdown will reach zero today, Thursday, November 5, at 10 a.m. ET. While organizers have yet to reveal exactly what they have planned, the timing has fans wondering whether a lineup announcement, headliner reveal, or additional festival details are on the way.
Ozzfest Countdown Clock Has Fans Speculating
The official Ozzfest social media accounts have been dropping cryptic teasers over the past several days, building anticipation for the festival’s next chapter.
One post featured the caption “Tell me people…” alongside the iconic Ozzfest logo, while another showed a black screen covered in white question marks.
The latest countdown announcement added even more excitement, with the simple caption, “Countdown’s begun.”
Naturally, fans wasted no time sharing their predictions in the comments.
Some called for a reunion featuring surviving members of Black Sabbath with Zakk Wylde, while others hoped to see legendary metal acts like Slayer return to the festival.
Others simply wanted to know which artists would take the stage when Ozzfest finally returns.
For now, organizers haven’t confirmed any performers or revealed what Thursday’s announcement will include.
Sharon Osbourne Has Big Plans for Ozzfest’s Return
The countdown comes after months of anticipation surrounding Ozzfest’s revival.
Sharon Osbourne, who launched the festival alongside her late husband, Ozzy Osbourne, in 1996, previously confirmed that she had been speaking with Live Nation about bringing the event back in 2027.
In an earlier interview with Billboard, Sharon explained that giving emerging musicians a platform had always been central to the festival’s identity.
“It was something Ozzy was very passionate about: giving young talent a stage in front of a lot of people,” she shared.
She also described the original Ozzfest experience as a place where up-and-coming bands could perform in front of massive audiences, calling it “like summer camp for kids.”
Ozzfest 2027 Will Return to the U.K. and U.S.
The Osbourne family has already confirmed that Ozzfest will return to both the United Kingdom and the United States in 2027.
One of the most significant stops will take place at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, Ozzy’s hometown and the birthplace of heavy metal legends Black Sabbath.
The venue also hosted the emotional Back to the Beginning concert in July 2025, where Ozzy reunited with Black Sabbath for their final performance.
The festival’s American return marks its first U.S. dates in nearly a decade.
Ozzfest last took place as a one-day event at The Forum in Inglewood, California, on December 31, 2018. That lineup featured Rob Zombie, Body Count, Marilyn Manson, and other heavy music favorites.
