Ozzy Day: Black Sabbath bandmates, family remember Ozzy on one-year anniversary
Ozzy Osbourne’s bandmates and family paid tribute on the one-year anniversary of his death. Ozzy died July 22, 2025, at 76. He played his final show with the original Black Sabbath lineup on July 5, 2025, at the Back to the Beginning concert in Birmingham.
Guitarist Tony Iommi wrote that a year later he still can’t believe Ozzy is gone. He said he watches videos of him and it feels like he’s still here. Iommi added he’s glad they did that final show in their hometown and said, “There will never be another Ozzy. I miss you my dear friend.”
Bassist Geezer Butler said it’s hard to believe it’s been a year. He’s glad they got to play the last show in Birmingham and wrote, “Gone in body, but his legend lives on. Such incredible memories. Ozzy forever!”
Drummer Bill Ward said there is a persistent silence every day and that they miss him very much.
Ozzy’s widow, Sharon Osbourne, told the BBC he was always himself. She said he told the truth, was genuine and very funny.
Daughter Kelly Osbourne posted a photo of her dad with the tags #OzzyForever and #BirminghamForever. Son Jack Osbourne has asked fans to share their memories using #OzzyDay.
