Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath Streaming Surge After Passing of The Prince of Darkness

Following the recent death of Ozzy Osbourne, streams of his music and Black Sabbath’s catalog have surged. Spotify reports that Ozzy’s monthly listeners jumped from 12.4 million to 18.7 million. Meanwhile, Black Sabbath’s monthly listeners increased from 19.8 million to 24.6 million.

The most-streamed solo songs by Ozzy include “Crazy Train,” “No More Tears,” and “Mama, I’m Coming Home,” which saw additional streams of 8 million, 7 million, and 7.2 million, respectively. For Black Sabbath, the top tracks were “Paranoid,” “Iron Man,” and “War Pigs,” with extra streams of 9.3 million, 6 million, and 5 million.

Ozzy’s passing came just over two weeks after a massive concert event that featured his final solo performance and the last show with the original Black Sabbath lineup. Bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward shared heartfelt tributes to their friend.

Tony Iommi expressed his disbelief, saying, “I just can’t believe it! My dear friend Ozzy has passed away only weeks after our show at Villa Park. It’s heartbreaking news. There won’t ever be another like him. We’ve lost our brother.” He added, “My thoughts go out to Sharon and all the Osbourne family. Rest in peace, Oz.”

Geezer Butler shared, “Goodbye dear friend—thanks for all those years. We had some great fun. So glad we got to do it one last time. Love you.”

Bill Ward wrote, “Where will I find you now? In the memories, our unspoken embraces. You’re forever in my heart. Deepest condolences to Sharon and the family. RIP. Thank you forever.”

Fans are mourning the loss of a true rock legend.
