Papa Roach has released a new video for their song “Braindead,” featuring H2O’s Toby Morse. The video, set in a stark mental hospital, captures themes of rebellion and urgency. It’s part of the band’s promotion for their upcoming album and celebrates 25 years of music with their RISE OF THE ROACH World Tour.
The video, directed by Jesse Davey and Ed Shiers, immerses viewers in the eerie atmosphere of an asylum. Lead singer Jacoby Shaddix performs alone in a padded room while his bandmates rock out in the background. Shaddix shared, “We wanted to create something that felt urgent, honest, and in your face. Bringing Toby in took it to the next level. This song is a call to wake up before it’s too late.”
Morse, who has known Shaddix for over 20 years, praised his friend’s journey to sobriety and the band’s dedication. “Their passion and hard work is why they are still here and relevant today,” he said.
Fresh off their first headline show at Wembley Arena in the UK, Papa Roach has been featured on the covers of Kerrang! and Metal Hammer. “Braindead” will be included in their next full-length album, with five to six songs already completed. The band plans to release more music throughout the year.
The RISE OF THE ROACH World Tour kicks off in August, taking the band across Europe and hitting major festivals like Wacken Open Air, Sziget Festival, and Pukkelpop Festival. In September, they will join Rise Against for shows in the US. After four rock radio hits from their 2022 album, Ego Trip, Papa Roach is ready to take control of their music with their New Noize Records and ADA Worldwide partnership.
