The Art Department at Parkway Central Library is hosting a Miniature Painting Workshop series with artists from Philadelphia’s MINI MUSEUM. These hands-on sessions are free, all-ages, and open to everyone—no sign-up needed.
Dates and themes:
– Tue., Aug. 4 — Symbolic Still Life: Miniature Painting
– Sat., Sept. 12 — Meaning and Memory: Miniature Collage
– Sat., Oct. 10 — Micro Monuments: Miniature Paper Sculpture
Workshops run noon–2 p.m. Participants will study portraiture, look at historical and modern examples, and make tiny portraits using watercolor or acrylics. All supplies are provided.
Created pieces can be donated to the MINI MUSEUM’s permanent collection. Some works may be shown in a library exhibition with the MINI MUSEUM in 2025–26.
Parkway Central Library is at 1901 Vine St., between 19th and 20th on the Parkway. Stop by between shows to make something small and cool.
