Paul McCartney appears to be teasing a new project of some sort that will feature an all-star lineup of guests.
Sir Paul shared the video below on his social media channels. The video features colorful dice, and on varying sides of the dice are the names of different artists. Among the names shown in the video are Beck, Josh Homme, St. Vincent, Phoebe Bridgers, Damon Albarn, 3D from Gorillaz, Anderson .Paak, Khruangbin, Ed O’Brien, Blood Orange and Dominic Fike.
The dice in the video also only show the number three, which was the imagery used on Macca’s latest album, McCartney III, that came out in December. Could this be some sort of remix version of McCartney III featuring a bunch of guest artists? Only time will tell!
In other McCartney news: Sir Paul recently announced the release of a book.
Due out November 2, The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present is comprised of 154 songs written by McCartney and dives into the stories and inspirations behind them. A trailer for the book can be viewed below.
In a statement on the book, Sir Paul said, “More often than I can count, I’ve been asked if I would write an autobiography, but the time has never been right. The one thing I’ve always managed to do, whether at home or on the road, is to write new songs. I know that some people, when they get to a certain age, like to go to a diary to recall day-to-day events from the past, but I have no such notebooks. What I do have are my songs, hundreds of them, which I’ve learned serve much the same purpose. And these songs span my entire life.”
Interestingly, the 154 songs that make up the book are organized in alphabetical order, not chronological order. By doing this, the book “…establishes definitive texts of the songs’ lyrics for the first time and describes the circumstances in which they were written, the people and places that inspired them, and what [McCartney] thinks of them now.”
The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present is available for pre-order through a variety of book retailers here.
