Thanksgiving 2025 is just around the corner! It’s time to prepare that turkey, mash the potatoes, and top off the pumpkin pie with whipped cream. This holiday is all about good food and spending time with family and friends. While turkey is the star of the show, everyone can enjoy the festivities, even if they don’t eat meat.

So, what’s the average cost of a Thanksgiving turkey this year? Prices have gone up by 11.2% in 2025. On average, Americans can expect to pay about $34.65 for a 15-pound turkey, which breaks down to around $2.31 per pound. In our state, the average cost is slightly higher at $34.85. If that sounds steep, keep in mind that folks in Hawaii are facing the highest prices, with a 15-pound turkey costing about $55.70.

If you’re planning to travel for Thanksgiving, get ready for a busy road. AAA predicts that around 73 million people will hit the road this holiday, which is nearly 90% of all travelers. That’s an increase of 1.3 million compared to last year. For those flying, about 6 million people are expected to take domestic flights, marking a 2% rise from 2024.

So, whether you’re cooking up a feast or traveling to see loved ones, get ready for a Thanksgiving filled with good food, great company, and maybe even some tunes to set the mood!
