Peter Criss Refutes Claims of $1,000 Fee for Digital Album Download

Peter Criss, the former drummer of KISS, has responded to claims that he is charging fans $1,000 for a download of his new solo album. The confusion started when his Bandcamp page listed the digital download at that high price, while the vinyl was priced at $32.98 and the CD at $14.98.

Criss clarified the situation on Monday, explaining that he is not in control of the Bandcamp account. He stated, “Bandcamp had become an issue, and I had requested Flatiron Recordings to disable the account associated with my records before the release day of my new record on Dec. 19, 2025.” He emphasized that Flatiron Recordings manages the account, not him.

He apologized for the mix-up and reassured fans that he is not charging $1,000 for the album. “I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and for the misinformation,” he said. He encouraged fans to look for other ways to purchase his new rock album.

This self-titled album is Criss’s first solo release since 2007’s *One For All*, which featured jazz and ballads. The new record marks a return to rock and roll and includes contributions from guest musicians like John 5 from Motley Crue, bassist Billy Sheehan, and keyboardist Paul Shaffer. The 11-track album was released on December 19, just a day before Criss’s 80th birthday.

Criss also mentioned that he isn’t the only KISS member with unusual pricing. Former lead guitarist Vinnie Vincent recently announced a new single priced at $225, stating he won’t ship orders until he receives 1,000 orders.

Fans can look forward to Criss’s new music and enjoy the rock vibes he’s bringing back!
