Air travelers flying from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) will be among the first to experience American Airlines’ new Flagship Suite seats that will be available on the new Boeing 787-9. They are offering 51 new premium seats, available with privacy doors, enhanced storage space, and a charging pad for wireless devices.
Travelers who book the new seating will also be able to enjoy amenities through their Flagship Lounge, which will open this summer, according to a Philadelphia Inquirer report.
The new Boeing 787-9 aircraft will depart PHL beginning on Aug. 6 to London and on Sept. 3 to Zurich, Switzerland.
According to a Delco.Today report, the airline anticipates having 30 new 787-9 planes operational by 2029 and increasing its premium economy seating section by 50%.
An American Airlines news release confirmed that the Flagship Suite seating will be available on all newly produced 787-9 aircraft, new Airbus A321XLR aircraft, and the airline’s retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER.
Tickets for Flagship Suite seating have been opened and are available for booking on American Airlines’ website.
