Poison band member claims Bret Michaels’ financial demands blocked 40th anniversary tour

A planned Poison tour to celebrate the band’s 40th anniversary is off, reportedly due to frontman Bret Michaels asking for too much money. The idea for the tour sparked over the summer when guitarist C.C. DeVille teased on social media, “Poison tour 2026. Are you ready?”

However, drummer Rikki Rockett recently shared that the tour won’t happen because Michaels wanted to be paid six times more than what Rockett, DeVille, and bassist Bobby Dall were set to earn. Rockett explained, “We had a great offer, but we left the table. It didn’t work.”

He added, “C.C., Bobby, and I were all in, but Bret wanted the lion’s share of the money, making it impossible to move forward. It’s like $6 to every one of our dollars. You just can’t work that way.”

Rockett emphasized that while he loves performing, he doesn’t want to work hard just to make someone else rich. Despite the setback, he hasn’t ruled out a future tour, joking that a “41st anniversary tour” could be a fun idea.

He mentioned that replacing Michaels is “not out of the question,” but it would be a last resort. “I don’t want to do that. I’m not quarreling with Bret. We just didn’t come to an agreement,” Rockett said. “I don’t like it, but I don’t think there’s a better frontman for Poison.
