Power Trip Night Two: AC/DC & Judas Priest Setlists/Recap

Power Trip continued Saturday night (October 7), which saw AC/DC and Judas Priest take to the stage in Indio, Calif.

Judas Priest took to the stage first and certainly made the night memorable. Priest, of course, were tapped to fill in for Ozzy Osbourne, who backed out of the event in July.

The legendary metal band announced at Power Trip their 19th studio album will be titled Invincible Shield, and it’s coming out March 8, 2024. Fans can pre-order physical copies of the LP at JudasPriestStore.Shop.MusicToday.com.

The biggest highlight of Priest’s set undoubtedly came during the encore. Guitarist Glenn Tipton joined the band for the final three song of their setlist: “Metal Gods,” “Breaking the Law” and “Living After Midnight.” In February 2018, it was revealed Tipton was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s disease ten years prior.

As if things couldn’t get grander, it was time for AC/DC to take to the stage. It was the band’s first show since September 20, 2016. On top of that, it was their first show with Brian Johnson since February 28, 2016. Johnson was forced to step away from AC/DC in 2016 due to issues related to hearing loss. Since then, thanks to new in-ear monitor technology, he’s been able to perform live again.

AC/DC’s setlist featured a wide variety of tracks from both Johnson’s era and Bon Scott’s era of the band. Notably, the setlist featured two songs from their 2020 album Power Up: “Shot in the Dark” and “Demon Fire.”
