Rock legend Sir Brian May is teaming up with The Struts to release a new version of their hit song, “Could Have Been Me.” This exciting collaboration is set to drop on September 3. Fans can expect May’s iconic guitar work to blend perfectly with The Struts’ original sound.

The Struts’ lead singer, Luke Spiller, expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m absolutely ecstatic to announce that The Struts and I are set to release a reimagined version of ‘Could Have Been Me,’ featuring my hero, the legendary Brian May!” Originally released in 2013, this new version celebrates the song’s 10th anniversary since it broke into the U.S. market.

Brian May shared his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Working with Luke and The Struts has been a joyous journey for me. I became obsessed with this great song ever since I was inspired by the original version and felt an uncontrollable urge to mess with it! It carries a great positive message for rebellious kids of all ages.” The track kicks off with May’s signature Red Special guitar sound, setting the stage for an energetic listening experience.

Along with the single, a music video will be released, showcasing the band in action. Fans can already find a teaser and the original video online. “Could Have Been Me” first appeared on The Struts’ debut album, Everybody Wants, and gained new fans after being featured in the 2021 film, Sing 2. As the band tours across America, they celebrate a decade since their first album.
