Queensryche & John 5 Bring Thrills & Chills to The Keswisk Theatre

Rock icons Queensrÿche are out on “The Verdict” 2020 Headline Tour and stopped by The Keswick Theatre in Glenside. PA on February 19, 2020.  The band ion tour with special guests John 5 and Eve To Adam.   The tour starting which started on January 17th in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and wraps up on February 27th in Orlando, Florida.

John 5 and The Creatures is comprised of world-renowned guitarist John 5, bassist Ian Ross and drummer Logan Miles Nix.  John 5 and his band plays variety of genres while out on his solo tour including metal, rock, country, bluegrass, and some of that finger pickin’ stuff.  John 5 plays some of his iconic guitars that we normally only get to see him play on Instagram or with Rob Zombie. Some of these include his LED guitar, a banjo, a miniature guitar and a guitar filled with a green glow in the dark liquid. Even though there were no stage dressing besides a John 5 banner we were still treated to the masks, the drool and the veil John 5 likes to wear while on stage.  One of the highlight of a John 5 show is the medley of songs he plays.  This time around we heard snippets of  Metallica, Nirvana, Pantera, Police, Soundgarden and many more all played to perfection.  Before playing his final song of the night “I Want It All,” we were treated to the Star Spangle Banner played with John 5’s teeth.

The buzz in the room was electric as the Queensryche hit the stage and performed on hit after another.    First on the list was “Launder the Conscience” that got the crowd up and moving  and rolled into “Prophecy.”  One of the most iconic Queenryche song “Operation: MindCrime” first few cords his the guitar and everyone know what song it was and raised their fist and sang along word for word.  The band really did a great job of mixing up the new with the old, giving everyone what they came for. “Walk in the Shadow” another classic QR hit, that really resonated  with the older fans bringing back memories of their younger years. The band mixed in some new stuff  as well, like “Bent” and “Dark Reverie” which was well recieved by all the fans in attendance.

The band ended the show with three big hits that set the place on fire and made for a great send off .Light YearsEmpire and finally Eyes of a Stranger had everyone standing up and shouting out every lyric.
