Rage Against the Machine break up, cancel upcoming planned tour

Rage Against the Machine has disbanded once again, declaring an end to their live performances and cancelling their forthcoming tour. After lead singer Zack de la Rocha departed from the band, causing the band’s first split in 2000, the remaining group members teamed up with Chris Cornell to create Audioslave. In 2007, RATM decided to regroup before entering into an indefinite pause in 2011. The group’s drummer, Brad Wilk, shared the information on Instagram, stating, “I understand many people are eagerly anticipating the announcement of rescheduled tour dates for all the canceled RATM concerts. I don’t wish to continue leading others or myself on any longer. Therefore, although there has been some discussion about the possibility of this occurring in the future… I want to clarify that RATM (Tim, Zack, Tom and me) will not be embarking on a tour or performing live again. My apologies to those of you who have been anticipating this event. Wilk didn’t offer an explanation for the band’s split… The members of Rage Against the Machine, namely Wilk, de la Rocha, Tim Commerford, and Tom Morello, had shared plans for a global tour in 2022. However, it was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, much to their regret. The band performed several shows in July and August of 2022, but had to call off the rest when de la Rocha suffered an Achilles tendon tear. RATM, which was established in 1991, included Morello, Wik, Commerford, and de la Rocha as its members.
