ORIGINAL STORY
Red Hot Chili Peppers are on a shortlist of artists rumored to headline Coachella after Kanye West suddenly dropped out of the festival earlier this week.
Per TMZ, the Chili Peppers and The Weeknd are two artists considered to fill the vacant headlining spots on April 17 and 24. The tabloid noted, “Our sources say the Red Hot Chili Peppers are a name that’s being seriously considered. The group is set to hit the road this summer — and recently played a low-key show in L.A. — so they’re ready to go. What’s more, our sources say RHCP makes a lot of sense, because currently there’s no major rock ‘n roll act on the lineup.”
West was set to headline the two-weekend festival with Billie Eilish, Harry Styles and Swedish House Mafia.
Red Hot Chili Peppers have previously headlined Coachella time times: 2003, 2007 and 2013.
