Red Hot Chili Peppers Recording New Album at Guitarist’s Home Studio

Flea, the bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, has shared that the band is busy writing and recording new music at guitarist John Frusciante’s house. They are working on what could be their 13th studio album. Flea expressed excitement about the process, saying, “We’ve been writing music together, recording at John Frusciante’s house, and the music feels great.” He emphasized the importance of finding that special groove when they play together.

Flea compared the creative process to being in a complicated marriage with four people. “It’s like being in a marriage that’s always moving and changing, with all these challenges,” he explained. He also acknowledged that egos are part of the mix. “My ego is as big and as fragile as anybody’s,” he admitted. Despite this, he sees his ego as a vital part of who he is, full of life and beauty.

The band’s latest album, *Return of the Dream Canteen*, was released in 2022, just five months after *Unlimited Love*. This marks the shortest gap between two albums in their history, as both were recorded during the same sessions.

In addition to the band’s work, Flea is set to release his debut solo jazz album, *Honora*, on March 27. The album features collaborations with Thom Yorke and Nick Cave. Working on solo material seems to have inspired Flea and brought fresh energy to the band.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers aim to keep their unique blend of funk, rap, and rock feeling fresh and purposeful as they create new music. Fans can look forward to what’s next from this legendary band!
