Red Hot Chili Peppers Tease Eddie Van Halen Tribute Song

Red Hot Chili Peppers are teasing a new track from their upcoming studio album. The track is a tribute to late guitar icon Eddie Van Halen.

The band shared a clip of the track titled “Eddie” via their social media channels. The full version of the song will be available tomorrow (September 23.)

Lyrics to the preview clip are as follows:

“Sailing the Sunset Strip, I’m a bit of a king/Granny would take a trip, I’ll be bending the strings/Got hammers in both my hands, such a delicate touch/They say I’m from Amsterdam, does that make me Dutch?”

“Eddie” is the second track preview from Return of the Dream Canteen, the new Chili Peppers album due out October 14. The first preview came via “Tippa My Tongue,” which dropped in August.

This is the second album from the band in 2022 following the release of Unlimited Love in April. This is also the second studio album from the band since the return of guitarist John Frusciante.

Return of the Dream Canteen is currently available for pre-order digitally here, while physical copies (vinyl, CD and cassette) are available for pre-order at Music.RedHotChiliPeppers.com.
