Richard Marx Releases Metal Version of His Hit ‘Right Here Waiting’

Richard Marx + heavy metal = Um…I’m sorry…what now?!

Yes, you read that headline correctly. The ’80s hitmaker has recorded a metal version of his classic ballad “Right Here Waiting” with Trivium frontman Matt Heafy.

The crazy talented @matthewkheafy of Trivium came up with an amazing metal version of my song. We did vocals together and it’s out today!” wrote Marx on Twitter. Heafy said in his own statement, “Richard is one of the greatest songwriters of our time and an incredible incredible human being, so it’s unreal that we were able to create this metal version of his mega-hit together. Stream the heck outta it!”

You can listen the heck outta the new metal version of “Right Here Waiting” below. Regardless of your feelings about Marx or metal, this new version of “Right Here Waiting” is really a lot of fun, and Marx’s vocals still sound outstanding.
