Robert Plant will receive the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award. The honor recognizes his major contributions to Americana and American roots music.
Americana Music Association executive director Jed Hilly praised Plant for his deep connection to the genre. He said Plant has shown real passion and curiosity for blues, folk, country and gospel, and has helped grow Americana’s audience worldwide.
After Led Zeppelin, Plant turned to roots and Americana. His work with Alison Krauss and producer T Bone Burnett brought wide acclaim. Their 2007 album Raising Sand won the Grammy for Album of the Year. Their 2021 follow-up, Raise the Roof, won Best Americana Album. Plant’s more recent project is Saving Grace, with Suzi Dian; their self-titled debut came out in 2025.
Plant will be honored at the 25th annual Americana Honors & Awards on Sept. 16 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Tickets are on sale now.
