The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 2021 induction ceremony is set for this October in Cleveland at a new venue with planned fan attendance currently a go.
Per Media News Group’s Gary Graff, Rock Hall CEO Greg Harris said in a virtual news conference today (March 2) the 2021 induction ceremony will be taking place on October 30 at the recently renovated Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse arena. Previous Rock Hall inductions in Cleveland were held at the Public Auditorium, whose main auditorium has a 10,000 capacity, while the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse arena has a 20,000 capacity.
Harris and Cleveland Cavaliers/Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse CEO Len Komoroski both said during the conference they’re expecting the live induction to go on as planned and will monitor best practices for live events in the leadup to the ceremony.
Graff notes, “Per state regulations in Ohio, the FieldHouse has been hosting crowds of 25 percent its roughly 20,000 capacity for athletic events, and Komoroski said he anticipates those limitations to increase as the year goes on.”
Tickets for the 2021 Rock Hall Induction Ceremony are expected to go on sale in July, while the 2021 induction class will be announced in May.
As with previous years, the public will have the opportunity to voice their choice via the Fan Vote at RockHall.com. The Fan Vote runs through April 30. Fans are allowed to vote once per day during the Fan Vote period. Visitors of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland will also have the opportunity to vote in person. The “Fans’ Ballot” will be comprised of the top five artists from the fan vote. That ballot will be counted among the other ballots filled out by various artists, historians, and music industry professionals.
