Actor and musician Tim Curry passed away at his home in Los Angeles on August 25 at the age of 80. Best known for his iconic roles as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Pennywise in the 1990 miniseries It, and Wadsworth in Clue, Curry also established a music career, releasing three rock-oriented albums: Read My Lips (1978), Fearless (1979), and Simplicity (1981). After suffering a major stroke in 2012, Curry continued to connect with fans, releasing his memoir, Vagabond, and giving his final interview in 2025.
Following the news of his passing, prominent figures in the rock and metal community—including Slash, Flea, Mike Portnoy, and David Draiman—took to social media to honor the late actor’s legacy and contributions to entertainment and music.
