Rolling Stones To Release ‘Licked Live In NYC’ From 2013 New York Show

The Rolling Stones will have the multi-format live collection, Licked Live in NYC, released on June 10. For the first time, it captures their complete performance in January 2003 at Madison Square Garden in New York on the 50th anniversary Licks tour, and features four previously unavailable tracks, plus three more from an Amsterdam show and rehearsal footage.

The collection will be released as 1-DVD/2-CDs; 1-SD Blu-ray/2-CDs; 2CDs; and 3LP formats. The MSG show featured a guest appearance by Sheryl Crow on “Honky Tonk Women.” Although much of the material was released in 2003 on the Stones’ Four Flicks DVD, fans will now be able to see and hear four performances that weren’t part of that release: “Start Me Up,” “Tumbling Dice,” “Gimme Shelter,” and “Sympathy For the Devil.”

Ahead of the release, a trailer has been shared, featuring excerpts from “It’s Only Rock ’n Roll,” “Don’t Stop,” Happy,” and “Sympathy For The Devil,” describing the set as “remixed, restored, and reimagined.” Licked Live in NYC will arrive just four weeks after the Stones’ famous “secret” shows at Toronto’s 300-capacity El Mocambo club, where they were billed as the Cockroaches, are released for the first time, on May 13.
