‘(Rotten Apples) The Smashing Pumpkins Greatest Hits’ Heads to Vinyl

The Smashing Pumpkins are bringing (Rotten Apples) The Smashing Pumpkins Greatest Hits to vinyl for the first time. The collection is out August 9, 2024.

(Rotten Apples) The Smashing Pumpkins Greatest Hits spans the first decade-plus of the two-time Grammy award-winning rock band’s discography. It features beloved songs like “Today,” “Bullet With Butterfly Wings,” “Cherub Rock,” “1979,” “Ava Adore,” and more. The collection also features “Eye,” a fan-favorite cut from the soundtrack of David Lynch’s 1997 film Lost Highway. The tracklist concludes with “Untitled,” the final song recorded by Billy Corgan, James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlin until their 2018 reunion. The latter has never previously been pressed on vinyl.

Tour-wise, later this summer, the band will hit the road with Green Day on The Saviors Tour, a series of stadium shows across North America. Currently, the group is performing arena and headliner festival dates in Europe.  The Smashing Pumpkins also have solo dates spanning from July to September that include a headlining set at Montreal’s Osheaga Festival on August 3.

In the studio, meanwhile, The Smashing Pumpkins released their eleventh full-length double album, CYR, in 2020. Across 2022 and 2023, the band released Atum: A Rock Opera in Three Acts, a sequel to 1995’s diamond-certified Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and 2000’s Machina/The Machines of God.
