Roxy Music has exciting news for fans! They are set to release five more albums on SHM-CD for the first time. The albums include *Viva! Roxy Music* (1976), *Manifesto* (1979), *Flesh + Blood* (1980), *Avalon* (1982), and *Heart Still Beating* (1990). These will be available on November 14.
These new releases join earlier SHM-CD editions from the band: *Roxy Music* (1972), *For Your Pleasure* (1973), *Stranded* (1973), *Country Life* (1974), and *Siren* (1975). All of these reissues come in paper sleeves that replicate the original LP artwork, complete with a Japanese obi-strap. The same special packaging will be used for the new batch.
SHM-CD stands for “Super High Material.” Unlike regular CDs made from polycarbonate, SHM-CDs are made from a purer, high-quality material designed for LCD screens. They have the same size and weight as standard CDs, but the difference lies in the details. The data on SHM-CDs is etched with greater precision, resulting in cleaner, brighter, and fuller sound.
These discs are made in Japan using their own unique process, ensuring high quality. They are pressed in small batches, focusing on quality over quantity. Other artists like Thin Lizzy, Paul McCartney, The Police, and Eric Clapton have also released music in this special format.
Don’t miss out on Roxy Music’s music on SHM-CD!
