Sabrina Carpenter’s great year will continue through the Christmas season, thanks to Netflix. “A Nonsense Christmas With Sabrina Carpenter” will premiere on the streaming service on December 8 at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT.
Netflix teased the special in a post on X (formerly Twitter). “This is really gonna jingle your bells ,” the post reads, accompanied by a video of Carpenter clad in a festive sequined bodysuit and fur-lined leather boots. The post also teased “unexpected duets and comedic guests.”

In a statement, Carpenter said, “The holidays have always been so special to me. I am excited to bring my take to a classic holiday variety show — infusing my love of music and comedy to make something that is uniquely me.” The “Espresso” songstress will perform her 2023 holiday EP Fruitcake, which features four original Christmas tunes, a holiday remix of her fan-favorite song “Nonsense,” and her take on Irving Berlin’s classic “White Christmas.” Fans may be able to expect some of her huge, if non-holiday-themed hits, will make an appearance too.
Carpenter released her most recent album, Short n’ Sweet, on August 23. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, and featured the chart-topping single “Please Please Please” and the top five singles “Espresso” and “Taste.” The feat made Carpenter the first act since The Beatles to have their first three top-five entries occupy the top five at the same time. “Espresso” was recently named Song Of The Year at the MTV Video Music Awards. At the ceremony, Carpenter performed an outer space-themed medley of the three tracks, featuring dancing astronauts and aliens.
Earlier this year, Carpenter appeared as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live alongside host Jake Gyllenhaal. She also appeared in a pre-recorded Scooby-Doo sketch where she played Daphne. Of course, Carpenter is no stranger to being on television; her career began in the 2010s with roles in Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World and the animated Milo Murphy’s Law.
