Sabrina Carpenter has landed her second No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart. The achievement makes Carpenter, 25, the youngest solo female artist to concurrently hold the top two spots on the chart.

As of the June 21 chart, Carpenter’s latest single “Please Please Please” has moved from No. 3 to No. 1 and is the UK’s most-streamed song this week, gathering 9.8 million combined streams. Carpenter’s former No. 1 “Espresso” holds the No. 2. spot and accumulated 8.1 million plays this week. Both songs are singles from Carpenter’s upcoming record Short n’ Sweet, due August 23 via Island. Carpenter will be hitting the road around the album with the Short n’ Sweet tour kicking off in September.

This achievement comes just 1 month and 10 days into Carpenter’s 25th year. Ariana Grande previously held the title back in February 2019 when her songs “7 rings” and “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored” claimed the top two spots. Grande was 25 years, 7 months, and 20 days at the time.

Over on the US charts, Carpenter scored her first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this week with the Jack Antonoff-produced “Please Please Please” rising from No. 2. After peaking at No. 3, “Espresso” sits at No. 4. Both tracks currently occupy the top two spots of the Billboard Global 200 and on Australia’s ARIA Chart.

Carpenter’s rising success has benefited from her opening slot on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, as well as the “Please Please Please” music video starring Carpenter’s boyfriend, the Oscar-nominated actor Barry Keoghan, which reached 19 million views in less than a week. Listeners seem to also be seeking out Carpenter’s back catalog, which includes songs like “Skin,” “Nonsense,” and “Feather.” The week of June 7 to 10 saw Carpenter’s catalog (excluding “Please”) gain an additional 38.5 million U.S. streams, a 35% jump from the week prior.
