Sabrina Carpenter has shared the trailer for her “A Nonsense Christmas” event, which is set to air on December 6 at 9 PM ET exclusively on Netflix.
Before performing at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, fans at the show were able to see the live premiere of the trailer for the event, which is now streaming as well. The clip includes plenty of special guests.
These include: Chappell Roan, Tyla, Shania Twain, and Kali Uchis as musical guests; Quinta Brunson, Cara Delevingne, Kyle Mooney, Nico Hiraga, Megan Stalter, Sean Astin, Owen Thiele, and Jillian Bell in scripted roles.
Carpenter is an executive producer alongside her sister Sarah. Sam Wrench, who also directed Taylor Swift’s 2023 concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, will be directing A Nonsense Christmas. Check out the trailer below.
In a press release, Netflix stated: “It’s a nonsense holiday and we’re so here for it. In this special with musical guests, pop icon Sabrina Carpenter will perform songs from her holiday EP fruitcake and other iconic chart-topping holiday covers. This special will also feature show-stopping music performances, comedic guests, unexpected duets, plus many more surprises and fun cameos.”
When the special was announced, Carpenter said, “The holidays have always been so special to me. I am excited to bring my take to a classic holiday variety show — infusing my love of music and comedy to make something that is uniquely me.”
Carpenter released her most recent album, Short n’ Sweet, on August 23. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, and featured the chart-topping single “Please Please Please” and the top five singles “Espresso” and “Taste.”
The feat made Carpenter the first act since The Beatles to have their first three top-five entries occupy the top five at the same time. “Espresso” was recently named Song Of The Year at the MTV Video Music Awards. At the ceremony, Carpenter performed an outer space-themed medley of the three tracks, featuring dancing astronauts and aliens.
