Sam Fender has announced the North American dates for his 2025 People Watching Tour. The new shows kick off in September in Boston, MA, and will take Fender across the U.S. and Canada through October. The tour supports Sam’s third album, People Watching.
General on-sale begins Friday, May 30th, at 10 am local time. Tickets can be purchased via Sam Fender’s website. The tour will open on September 17th in Boston, followed by dates in New York City, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Chicago, St. Louis, Mo, Franklin, TN. The tour will then move north for two shows in Canada; in Laval, QC, and Toronto, ON.
People Watching is a very personal record for Fender. When the album was announced, Sam shared that the title track was a tribute to his late friend and mentor, Annie Orwin. “‘People Watching’ is about somebody that was like a surrogate mother to me and passed away last November. I was by her side at the end, slept on a chair next to her,” he said of the song. “It’s about what was going through my head, to and from that place and home.” The album was produced by Sam with his bandmates Dean Thompson and Joe Atkinson, plus producer Markus Dravs (Arcade Fire) and The War on Drugs’ Adam Granduciel, a musician who Sam has long admired.
Sam recently shared the music video for the album single “Little Bit Closer,” which starred Owen Cooper of the Netflix drama Adolescence, and was directed by the series’ own director Philip Barantini. Back in January, Fender released the video for the album’s title track, starring BAFTA award-winning actor Andrew Scott. Of their collaboration, Scott shared, “Sam’s masterpiece of a song has become a true friend to me. Working on it was truly cathartic, and I’ll always be grateful to Sam for his extraordinary talent.”
