Better Broken is one of the most anticipated albums of the fall, according to the New York Times. It’s McLachlan’s tenth studio album and her first with Concord Records. The title track reflects on resilience through life’s challenges and features songs that explore deep truths about the human experience.
McLachlan will perform on Good Morning America today, followed by appearances on Live with Kelly and Mark and Nightline tomorrow. Next Tuesday, she’ll be on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. She has also been featured in Rolling Stone, Variety, and New York Magazine, and is on the cover of American Songwriter.
The album was mainly recorded at the famous Sound City Studios in Los Angeles. It includes contributions from talented musicians like Wendy Melvoin, Matt Chamberlain, Benny Bock, and Greg Leisz. McLachlan worked with producers Tony Berg and Will Maclellan for this project.
Standout tracks include “One In a Long Line,” which addresses the erosion of women’s rights, “Long Road Home,” a love song, and “Gravity,” the first song recorded for the album. The title track has been described as “resolute” by the New York Times. Throughout Better Broken, McLachlan and her collaborators create a beautiful expression of longing, grief, and determination.
With a career spanning over three decades, McLachlan has won 3 GRAMMY Awards, 12 JUNO Awards, and sold over 40 million albums worldwide. She is also known for founding the groundbreaking Lilith Fair festival.
