The Scorpions are set to reissue their debut album, *Lonesome Crow*, originally released in 1972. This new version features a remix by GRAMMY-winning producer Hans-Martin Buff, who worked with the original master tapes from producer Conny Plank. Fans can look forward to the reissue on streaming services, as well as a limited-edition transparent vinyl and a CD in a digipak sleeve.
*Lonesome Crow* was also the soundtrack for the German film *Das Kalte Paradies* and was recorded in just seven days. The album showcases a raw, progressive sound that differs from the more melodic hard rock style the band adopted in later years.
Rudolf Schenker, the band’s guitarist and songwriter, founded The Scorpions in 1965 and is the only original member still with the band. The most famous lineup, which lasted from 1978 to 1992, included vocalist Klaus Meine, lead guitarist Matthias Jabs, bassist Francis Buchholz, and drummer Herman Rarebell. Over the years, The Scorpions have released 19 studio albums and sold over 100 million records worldwide.
The limited-edition transparent vinyl will come in a gatefold package, designed to fold like a gate. The band shared their excitement, saying, “60 years of Rock’n’Roll! The legendary debut *Lonesome Crow* is back.” This reissue is a great way for fans to experience the band’s early sound and celebrate their long history in rock music.
