Serj Tankian, the lead singer of System of a Down, has released a cover of “A Seed,” a song by DJ and producer deadmau5. This track will be featured on his upcoming compilation album titled *Covers, Collaborations & Collages*.
Tankian describes “A Seed” as starting with a haunting piano intro that leads into a unique rhythm. He notes that the lyrics come from his first poetry book, *Cool Gardens*.
The album *Covers, Collaborations & Collages* includes a mix of covers and collaborations, along with some previously unreleased recordings. It is set to be released on October 24. To build excitement, Tankian plans to share a new song from the collection each week leading up to the album’s launch.
In addition to his solo work, Tankian is currently on tour with System of a Down. The band is performing a series of stadium shows across North America, with their next concert scheduled for Sunday at Soldier Field in Chicago.
