Shinedown has announced their new album, EI8HT, set to release on May 29. This marks the band’s eighth studio album and follows their 2022 release, Planet Zero. Frontman Brent Smith shared, “This album is over a year in the making. We pushed ourselves like never before.”
EI8HT features 18 tracks, including the singles “Dance, Kid, Dance,” “Three Six Five,” “Searchlight,” and “Killing Fields.” A new heavier song, “Safe and Sound,” is also available now.
In addition to the album, Shinedown will embark on a U.S. tour this spring and summer. The headlining tour, called the Dance Kid Dance Act II tour, kicks off on May 13 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and wraps up on August 23 in Springfield, Illinois. Supporting acts include Coheed and Cambria, Black Stone Cherry, and From Ashes to New. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday at 10 a.m. local time. In a recent interview, Smith explained the band’s decision to withdraw from the Kid Rock-headlined Rock the Country festival. He mentioned witnessing infighting and emphasized the importance of unity, saying, “It says the ‘United States of America’ – united. A lot of people right now don’t feel united.”
