Slash is one of many artists that appear on the soundtrack album for the highly-anticipated Barbie movie hitting theaters on July 21.

This news was confirmed by famed producer Mark Ronson, who helmed the film’s soundtrack. He told Variety on the red carpet of the Barbie premiere in Los Angeles that the iconic guitarist is featured on the song “I’m Just Ken.” The song, of course, is sung by Ryan Gosling, who plays Barbie’s beau, Ken.

“Slash is my hero,” said Ronson. “I was in seventh grade when ‘Appetite for Destruction’ came out. He’s my all-time hero.”

Ronson added he wasn’t sure if Slash would be interested in playing on the track. However, he thought, “It never hurts to ask.”

The producer said, “I sent him the song, and he was like, ‘This is a good song … I’ll play on it.’ He was so cool, and he killed it. He plays this solo at the end. It’s wonderful.”

The Barbie soundtrack, like the film, also comes out on July 21. In addition to Slash, other artists featured on the album include Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa and more.
