Slipknot is just full of surprises lately. In fact, one of the biggest surprises is their new EP, which was released today (June 9) with no teases or build-up at all.
The six-song EP is titled Adderall, and it’s available for streaming and download here. The EP features three versions of the title track and the songs “Death March,” “Red or Redder” and “Hard to Be Here.”
In a statement on the EP, percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan said, “Deconstructing to continuously pave the way for evolution. At this point in the program nothing is safe.”
The EP is a unique capper to a week that saw the metal band make a number of headlines. First, it was announced Crahan would be sitting out Slipknot’s upcoming shows to stay home with his wife dealing with undisclosed health issues. Shortly following that news, the band shared they parted ways with sampler and keyboardist Craig Jones. Jones was a member of Slipknot for 27 years. He appeared on every single recording from the band, with the exception of their first demo, Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat., released 1996.
