Alkaline Trio has officially announced that Tosh Peterson is the band’s new drummer. The 24-year-old musician replaces Atom Willard, who announced his departure from the group back in February. Peterson, who has recently been on the road with Lady Gaga, confirmed the news on social media after guitarist Matt Skiba praised him as “the best drummer in the world in our book.”

Despite his young age, Peterson has built an impressive resume as a “hired gun,” performing with artists such as Machine Gun Kelly, Bad Bunny, Filter, and Fall Out Boy. He is set to join Alkaline Trio for their upcoming co-headlining North American tour with Rise Against, which kicks off this September. If the position becomes permanent, Peterson will be the fifth full-time drummer in the band’s 30-year history.

Muse has announced a surprise, intimate "live transmission" show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on April 3, 2026. The 5,000-capacity gig marks the band's first performance since September 2025 and serves as the launch event for their tenth studio album, The WOW! Signal. The album announcement itself was a spectacle, involving a tablet sent 33km into the air to premiere the new single, "Be With You."

The record draws inspiration from the famous 1977 interstellar radio burst and follows the release of previous single "Unravelling." Fans can gain first access to tickets by pre-ordering the new album from the official Muse store before 11:59 AM GMT on Tuesday, March 24. With the new era officially underway, the Brixton show is expected to feature the live debut of several tracks from the space-themed project.

Wet Leg had the honor of serving as the musical guest for the first-ever episode of Saturday Night Live UK this past weekend. The Isle of Wight rockers performed "Mangetout" and "Catch These Fists," both tracks from their recently released second album, Moisturizer.

The premiere of SNL UK marks a major expansion for the long-running franchise. Following Wet Leg’s historic set, the series is scheduled to continue next week with host Jamie Dornan and musical guest Wolf Alice. Meanwhile, the U.S. version of SNL is set to return in April with host Jack Black and musical guest Jack White.

Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante has confirmed that the first single and video from the band’s long-awaited new album will arrive this May. Speaking on the Hear 2 Zen podcast, Benante described the track as a "f*ing banger" and a "love letter" to the fans who have supported the group throughout their career. The upcoming record, which was mixed at Dave Grohl's Studio 606, is currently slated for a September 2026 release.

Benante noted that the new material is "not for the faint of heart" and features some of the most aggressive parts the band has ever recorded. Metallica and the American Red Cross have announced that their year-long partnership has successfully collected approximately 40,000 blood donations worldwide. The collaboration, which launched in April 2025 through the band's All Within My Hands foundation, saw over 25,000 donations in the U.S. alone before expanding internationally during the global legs of the M72 World Tour.

The initiative has been particularly successful in reaching a younger demographic; the Red Cross reported that 16% of participants were first-time donors, with nearly half of those individuals falling into the 16–24 age bracket. To encourage participation, donors who registered between July 2025 and February 2026 received a limited-edition T-shirt and were entered for a chance to win an autographed ESP Snakebyte guitar.

Parkway Drive has released an official statement addressing recent legal developments involving Jed Gordon, a longtime member of the band's touring camp. The statement follows reports that Gordon entered a guilty plea to charges of s*xual intercourse with a person 14 or over and under 16 years of age. Gordon, who has worked in various roles for the band including merchandise management, is scheduled to receive his sentencing on May 19th.

While some media reports have identified Gordon as the brother of Parkway Drive drummer Ben Gordon, the exact nature of their relationship has not been officially confirmed.

The band's response comes after details of the case and the subsequent legal proceedings began circulating online earlier this week.

“We’ve recently learned that someone we’ve been associated with has pleaded guilty to an underage sex offence in 2002.

This is appalling and we condemn it. We’re gutted and we support the victim.

This happened before we were a band, however we bear moral responsibility for contracting him from 2003, on and off over the years.

While he hasn’t toured with us since 2017, more recently he’s been part of our Australian online merch team. When the band heard about this, we terminated his contract immediately.

He’s no longer involved with Parkway Drive in any capacity.
This is heartbreaking on a very human scale.

This is still ongoing in the courts so we’re closing comments.”
