Sons Of Kemet To Perform At 2021 Pitchfork Paris Festival

Pitchfork Paris have announced their 2021 line-up, featuring Sons Of Kemet, TV Priest, Claud and more.

The announcement comes alongside the news of a first ever London-based Pitchfork Festival, set to take place the previous week in November.

Pitchfork Paris will run from November 15-21 across multiple venues across the city, and also feature a show on Bobby Gillespie & Jehnny Beth’s joint European tour.

From June 30, events in France will be able to operate at 100 per cent capacity for fans who have either been fully vaccinated or can present proof of a negative COVID-19 test.

Current attendances for outdoor events are set at a capacity of 5,000 people, but those will be removed from next week. Indoor events will still operate at 75 per cent capacity.

“After an incredibly difficult year for artists, fans, and our music community, we’re excited to celebrate the return of live music with so many legendary venues across two of the most important music cities in the world,” Pitchfork editor Puja Patel said in a statement.

“That we’re able to host festivals in London and Paris during the publication’s 25th anniversary feels all the more special.”

The UK is currently set to remove all COVID-19 restrictions on July 19, after a rise in the coronavirus Delta variant caused the original date of June 21 to be pushed back.

This week, the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said life will “pretty much” return to normal when the restrictions are removed, and remains confident that the easing of lockdown will happen on the new planned date, despite the surge in cases of the Delta variant in the UK.
