Itās been a busy time for Ellis-Bextor, who just performed her 2001 hit āMurder on the Dancefloorā at the BAFTA Awards this past weekend. It was an appropriate venue, considering the song has had a major revival following its prominent feature in the final scene of Emerald Fennellās recently released and much-talked-about filmĀ Saltburn. Prior to the BAFTAs, Sophie took the song across the pond to New York, where she performed it in her US late-night television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.Ā This rendition of the track saw herĀ backed byĀ The Roots and a three-piece string section.
Sophie previously announced she will be releasing āMurder on the Dancefloorā on vinyl for the first time as a limited edition red 7ā alongside a limited-edition red CD single. The singer also recently shared a 7-track Murder on the DancefloorĀ EP, featuring the hit single alongside the original B-Side āNever Let Me Down,ā the Extended Album Version, and remixes from Jewels & Stone, Danny D, Hq and Twin Murder. All tracks were originally released in 2001, but the majority are brand new to streaming services.
