Stone Temple Pilots and Rival Sons recently kicked off their first co-headlining U.S. tour with support from Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown and made a stop at the Met in Philadelphia, PA on September 19, 2019.
Kicking off the Night was Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown a rock and roll band born of Nashville, TN. Their sound is a soulful patchwork of roots-infused melodies and muscular riffs, all woven tightly with the thread of their alternative psychedelic mystique. It’s as rambunctious, raw and real as rock & roll gets these days.
Rival Sons, out of Long Beach, Calif., have been together since 2009, with six albums and one EP on their resume. The band has been the supporting act for Deep Purple and Black Sabbath on tour and released its sixth studio album, “Feral Roots,” in January of this year. The album features the number-one Rock Radio hit, “Do Your Worst,” which Rolling Stone referred to as “a relentless rocker with a gritty verse spearheaded by a sinister lead guitar riff and thumping drums. The track takes a deft turn when it hits the chorus, forgoing out-and-out guitar bombast for rousing gang vocals with singer Jay Buchanan leading the charge.”
The member of Rival Sons include Jay Buchanan (vocals), Scott Holiday (guitar), Dave Beste (bass guitar) and Mike Miley (drums).
