Sublime has released a new track called “Ensenada” on July 18. This marks the first full song featuring Jakob Nowell as the lead singer. Jakob, the son of the late Bradley Nowell, joins original band members Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson to continue the band’s musical legacy.
Jakob shared his thoughts on the new music, saying, “Creating genuine music that reflects your life and times … people tap into that, and then you look around and realize, wow, look at all the love we’ve found.” The song is produced by Jon Joseph, who blends classic Sublime sounds with fresh elements. The lyrics are filled with raw emotions and real-life stories, capturing the band’s signature vibe. “Ensenada” will be part of their upcoming album and explores themes of love, relationships, and the challenges of emotions.
This summer and fall, Sublime will hit the road for 11 headlining shows and festival appearances. They will perform at the Vans Warped Tour in Long Beach on July 26. From August 14 to 17, they will take over Las Vegas for a special three-night event called Fear, Loathing, and Sublime at Park MGM. Other stops include the Minnesota Yacht Club, New Jersey, Atlanta’s Shaky Knees Festival, and St. Louis at the Evolution Festival. The tour will wrap up at San Diego’s Mission Bayfest on October 18.
