Taylor Swift brought her ‘Reputation Stadium Tour‘ to Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia this weekend, the home of Super Bowl LII Champion Philadelphia Eagles. #FlyEaglesFly Eagles’ place kicker Jake Elliott and his girlfriend Annie were in attendance and thought the first show was so nice that they had to see it twice and returned for night two of the show on Saturday with additional Eagles’ players in tow.
This was a hometown show for Swift, a Reading, PA native which is only a little over an hour drive from Philly. Her stop in Philly included a couple getting engaged at one of the Meet & Greets and a gondola malfunction that spurred an impromptu a cappella crowd sing along version of “Our Song”
Starting off the night was the energetic Charli XCX who performed a seven song set that included hits like, “Fancy,” “I Love It” and “Boom Clap”
Camila Cabello was next up. Her sultry set was nine songs long and included “Never Be the Same,” “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” (an Elvis Cover) and of course her smash hit “Havana.”
Taylor Swift’s performance lasted about an hour and 55 minutes and of the 20 song set she performed 14 of 15 songs from last years ‘Reputation’ album. It may be a sign that she is trying to “shake off” her past and start anew. The show even begins with a video montage of critics taken shots at the Swift before she emerges with her hit “… Ready For it.” Her second song of the night was “I Did Something Bad” which was accompanied by a fireworks display that could have been something you would see at Penn’s Landing on every 4th of July.
Midway through the her set, on one of of the two side stages, Swift performed a brilliant acoustic version of “Dancing with Our Hands Tied. For her hit “Shake IT Off,” She brought back her supporting acts Charli XCX and Camila Cabello (donning an Eagles’ number 11 Carson Wentz jersey) to add some fun to the mix. Other highlights included Swift traveling from the main stage to one of the side stages in a gondola like contraption, a giant animatronic cobra, and a confetti shower of mini newspapers with the Reputation Stadium Tour as the headline.
She closed the show with a version of “We Are Never Getting Back Together” that transformed into “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things” and another huge fireworks display.
